WebIn 1887 it was re-titled as the King's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry) and then served during the Third Burmese War, the Ashanti Expedition, the Boer War and two World Wars. In 1968 the Regiment was merged with the King's Shropshire Light Infantry, the Durham Light Infantry and the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry to form the Light Infantry.
